About Us

A Story of Love, Distance, and Connection

In 2005, I moved away from my three young grandchildren. My heart ached with the distance, and I worried about staying connected with them.

I asked myself, "How can I make memories from 700 miles away?" The answer came with a needle, thread, and a lot of love.

I began sewing a new pillowcase for each of them for every holiday- and a special one for their birthday. Each one was made with love, prayers, and the desire to hug them even when I couldn't be there.

They received it in the mail- personal mail just for them! It was an instant hit. Something they looked forward to and treasured.

Now, we have 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and most of them live far away from us.

Over the years, we've continued to create meaningful ways to stay connected across the miles.

GrandHugs was created to help grandparents-and others-make memories from a distance, strengthen relationships, and let their loved ones know ...
